You are on the website of The Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE), which we enunciate as N.I. triple E.
We are Engineers and Practitioners who have taken it upon ourselves to promote the growth of our members by registering them; promoting our Continuous Professional Development (including technical training programmes etc), Codes and Standards development, Advocacy as well as Research and Development.
You are a potential member, if you are yet to be part of us but you are in the practice of electrical, electronic, microelectronic, power, solar/renewable/clean energy, telecommunications, computing, information technology, electro-optical, instrumentation, control, automation, mechatronic, broadcasting, aeronautic (electronics) engineering, robotics, embedded and emerging technologies; all these in industry, teaching, study, research, development or policy/regulation (and if you manipulate electron or current in any form).
The NIEEE has decades of record as the foremost and leading professional body among engineering professions in Nigeria since it was established in 1984. It currently houses over 15,000-strong database of Engineers and other professional engineering cadre in all specialties of Electrical/Electronic engineering and today, has 35 Chapters spread across all the geo-political zones of the country and mounting.
The NIEEE’s activities are becoming more prominent and have gained the recognition of many Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies, National Assembly; State Government and State Assemblies etc. The recent Act of the National Assembly known as “Chartered Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of Nigeria Act, 2022 (CIEEEN) lays credence.
We provide forums for discussions, mentorship, development and dissemination of knowledge to members and the public. We also promote the welfare and protect the interest of practitioners of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in the public and private sectors of the economy through advocacy, career progression, recognition and all other means. We make our professional proficiencies available to engage and advise governments, industry and commercial establishments connected with Electrical/Electronic Engineering on relevant subjects or matters concerning professional practice. We also collaborate with stakeholders where found necessary to achieve all these objectives that we have set for ourselves.
