Engineers have called on the Federal Government to see to the implementation of Executive Order 5 in order to boost local capacity among manufacturers and solution developers. Under the aegis of the Nigeria Institute of Electrical Electronic Engineers (NIEEE), the body noted that the previous efforts of government geared towards achieving economic development had relied on the use of foreign aid, investment in machines, fostering education at the primary and secondary level, controlling population growth and giving loans and debt relief on reforms to stimulate the economy with a view to achieving self-sufficiency. However, the engineers claimed the previous efforts were yet to yield the desired results, hence the need for full-scale implementation of Executive Order 5 to boost local production. The 9th Fellowship Conferment for the National Institute of Electrical and Electronics (NIEEE) was held at NIEEE Headquarter, Conference Hall of Vertinary Council Building , 8, Zambezi Crescent, Maitama , Abuja on June 26, 2021. It was a successful events as the National Chairman of the Institute, Engr. Kings Adeyemi while giving his opening history brief the audience about the history of NIEEE and the importance of Engineers towards nation building. 29 members of the Institution were awarded the Fellow of the Institution as displayed in the picture above.

The Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE) held 52nd Ordinary General Meeting on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 by 5pm -7pm at International Conference Center, Abuja. 52nd Ordinary General Meeting Participants joined Virtually through Zoom Platform and Physically at the venue which was hosted by the National Chairman of the Institution, Engr. Kings Adeyemi, FNSE, FNIEEE. Discussion and deliberation of important issues were highlighted and resolved. It was indeed successful events.
NIEEE E-Symposium Webinar Series with Theme: The Roles of Computer Engineers and Computer Scientists in a developing digital economy It was held on Saturday, 8th August, 2020 at 3pm through Online Zoom platform Members from the country and outside joined at the interactive E-symposium session. The Panelist discussed at length on the roles of computer engineers and computer scientists as it relate to digital economy stressing the fact that they need to work as a team as technology is converging.
